In Banana & Cookie in Camping Capers, two friends go on a camping trip that ends in disaster but, ultimately, brings them closer together.
Banana & Cookie in Camping Capers draws on story and animation techniques from both Disney and Pixar animated films, particularly the physical humor in many Disney cartoons, starting with Steamboat Willie. Camping Capers also speaks to a multi-age audience by casting anthropomorphized inanimate objects as main characters and creating a storyline that touches on a dilemma that adults can relate to, much in the way that Pixar’s Toy Story films do.
As in Pixar’s Monster’s Inc., the core dynamic in Banana & Cookie in Camping Capers is one of a deep friendship between two very different characters. The script avoids any ‘adult’ humor intended to go over the heads of children, and instead focuses on the physical humor of a camping trip gone wrong, and on the character attributes of Banana and Cookie: the former is reckless and fun loving, the latter is more cautious and reserved, but both care about each other.
The animation was created using Adobe Character Animator. The film was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
